Host communities and the licence to operate
Ijegun-Egba is an economic hub. It is also a neighbourhood. The two facts have to be managed together.

The host communities of Emadeb’s operations remain major stakeholders. That sentence appears in the group’s own materials because it is an operating constraint, not a flourish.
Around Ijegun-Egba, tank farms put tens of millions of litres on the road every day. Traffic, drainage, fire and the condition of access roads are therefore not municipal afterthoughts. Through the Tank Farm Owners Association, Emadeb has argued - and invested - for alternative roads, a standard fire station, drainage and community sensitisation on safety.
The Emadeb Development Foundation carries the longer agenda: education, enterprise, public health, and the slower work of making energy’s neighbourhoods more liveable.
Photographs from group gatherings are not decoration. They are a record of the people who actually hold those relationships.
