Ibom field: a full-cycle energy group

Acquisition of 100 percent equity in the Ibom marginal field (OML 70 / PPL 236) takes Emadeb from terminal and retail into production.

Corporate Communications · 4 November 2025

Emadeb Petroleum Exploration and Production Company Limited is the dedicated vehicle for the group’s upstream ambitions.

The acquisition of 100 percent equity in the Ibom marginal field - OML 70, held as PPL 236 - is the clearest expression of that mandate. It follows the 2020 marginal-fields bid round and sits alongside a licence to commercialise flare gas on selected Mobil Producing fields.

The work programme is practical: additional wells, casing-supported platforms and facilities for on-site export. The group has also designed and constructed a backload crude-evacuation solution for NNPC / HHOG, and participated in numerous crude and natural-gas-liquids offtake programmes, including direct sale of petroleum products and direct purchase of crude under DSDP.

Upstream at Emadeb is not a brochure. It is an operating company with a field, a flare-gas mandate, and oilfield services - wellhead, valves, rotating equipment, composite pipe and offshore charter - standing behind it.
