Nigeria’s flare-gas commercialisation programme is a policy with teeth: associated gas that once burned in the sky is to be captured, processed and sold.
Emadeb holds a licence to commercialise flare gas on selected Mobil Producing fields. It sits naturally beside the Ibom field and the group’s midstream storage: molecules that are captured still need a route to market.
The work is technical and commercial at once. It is also a climate and community story. Flaring is heat, noise and wasted value at the fence line of host communities. Commercialising it is one of the few interventions that pays on all three ledgers.
