First downstream company to deliver PMS after subsidy removal

In June-July 2023, Emadeb delivered a Premium Motor Spirit cargo to Nigeria in the first weeks of the post-subsidy market.

When the Federal Government removed the petrol subsidy, the downstream market had to rediscover the mechanics of importing, storing and placing PMS at commercial prices.

Emadeb Energy Group was the first downstream company to deliver a PMS cargo to Nigeria in that window - June and July 2023. The cargo was not a public-relations exercise. It was the terminal, the trading desk and the retail network doing what they had been built to do: receive, certify, load and sell.

The episode sits in a longer sequence of confirmed delivery contracts with international oil companies, including ExxonMobil and SNEPCO, and offtake under joint-venture arrangements with NNPC.

For counterparties, the point is simple. When the rules of the market change, infrastructure still has to work.
